Harley Davidson Releases The Softail Slim for 2012

Harley-Davidson has released the brand new Softail Slim for 2012.  Just like the name describes, it’s a slimmed down version of the Softail, bringing back the look of some custom motorcycles from the ‘50s.  Although the exterior has been slimmed down, the engine has not lost any of its power, still a 1690cc air-cooled engine with a 6-speed cruise drive transmission, the Softail Slim may look different then the Softail, but can still get you where you want to go.

The slimming down included a narrower rear tire and a chopped fender.  To keep a clean look, the rear taillight, turn signal and brake light have been combined, and the license plate is side-mounted.  The front fender has also been trimmed up to expose more of the front tire.  The engine is now the focal point of the bike, instead of chrome, you’ll find the covers are polished and a thin strap covers the fuel tank seam.

The 23.8 inch seat height and rider floorboards give the rider a feeling of sitting in the bike instead of on the bike, offering a comfortable fit to a variety of riders.  It comes with a solo seat with a black tuck-and-roll vinyl cover and Hollywood handlebars, nice and low, for an unobstructed view.

You can find the Softail Slim in Black starting at $15,499, or for $15884, you can choose between Black Denim or Ember Red Sunglo.  For a classic looking motorcycle that shows off the engine, with a lot of power and comfort, check out the Softail Slim by Harley-Davidson.
