2013 Ski-Doo Snowmobile Recall

Snowmobile dealers are having enough problems this year, with the lack of snow in the Midwest and odd weather patterns throughout the country. Now it seems that BRP, the manufacturer of Ski-Doo snowmobiles, has a bigger problem on their hands. In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, BRP is voluntarily recalling certain 2013 snowmobiles for a safety recall involving a fuel leak that could result in a fire hazard. With 20 different 2013 snowmobile models affected (reportedly over 10,000 sleds total) Ski-Doo snowmobile dealers are going to be very busy.

According to the recall notice, the sleds’ fuel pump inlet fitting can come into contact with the oil tank and break, leading to a fuel leak. Although three fires were reported to BRP, there have not been any injuries.

Consumers who own one of the snowmobiles listed above should stop driving them immediately and contact any BRP dealer to see if their vehicle should undergo the free repair.
