Suzuki’s famous “Hayabusa”, sometimes nicknamed the “Busa”, is actually the Japanese name of a peregrine falcon. Ironically, this falcon happens to be the fastest creature on the planet. Coincidence? I don’t think so.
The actual model designation by Suzuki is the GSX1300R; this powerful 1300cc sportbikes was listed in the Guinness Book Of World Records in both the 2001 and 2004 editions as the fastest production motorcycle on the planet. This motorcycle is capable of reaching speeds over 200 miles per hour.

Not only is this bike fast, riders love it because of its smooth power and ease of acceleration when taking off. Classified as a sport bike by Suzuki because of the location of the foot pegs and high speed capabilities, it’s also comfortable enough for the largest of riders. Some riders even consider it to be more of a sport touring bike because of the slightly wider wheelbase and driving simplicity. The easily seen digital speedometer comes in handy when driving on a bike this comfortable and not realizing how fast you are traveling.
The Hayabusa was introduced to the public in 1999 and is still Suzuki’s fastest production motorcycle. For 2012, you can find this motorcycle at authorized Suzuki dealers in either White or Black with a starting price of $13,999 or the special limited edition Candy Sonoma Red starting at $14,299.00.
