New 2016 Honda Lineup of Motorcycles | Power Sports and More

2016 promises to be a strong year for Honda Motorcycles.  Two Honda motorcycles, the CB500F and the CBR650F, and one Honda scooter, the Metropolitan, are being revamped for the new model year. The new 2016 Honda lineup includes a lot of old favorites as well, like the CB1000R, the Forza and the Ruckus.

 2016 Honda Motorcycle Improvements

The 2016 Honda CB500F is a midsize naked sports bike. The bodywork has been completely redesigned giving the bike a more aggressive look and highlighting the functional components of the bike. The just-under 31-inch seat height will suit most of the riding population and, at 414 lbs, it is the lightest of the Honda 500 twins four-stroke engine and easy to handle.

The CB500F now has a larger fuel tank with a hinged cap, a shortened muffler with an imporved exhaust note, front and rear LED lights, externally adjutsable spring loaded front forks, an adjustable front brake lever, aluminum die-cast passenger foot pegs and a “wave”-style ignition key. The seat feels natural, and the wide handlebars provide excellent leverage for easy rider maneuvering. The controls fall naturally to hand. For riders with smaller hands, the clutch engages smoothly.

The transmission has also undergone some updates for improved shifting. You’ll notice the budget front and rear suspension, it’s not unstable, but nothing plush, either. Both the ABS model and the Standard model bikes come in a Black Matte Metallic and Silver color.

The 2016 Honda CBR650F that originally hit the market in the 2014 model year, is a midsized sportbike that can do it all. This comfortable, sharp handling Honda motorcycle with a 649cc inline-four-cylinder four-stroke engine can be a daily commuter or a weekend canyon carver.  Honda claims this new engine produces a max output of 86 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and 46 foot-pounds of low-end torque at 8,000 rpm.

Seat height is at 31.9 inches, and the bike has a wet weight of 454 lbs. The front suspension is a 41 mm Showa fork with 4.7 inches of travel but is not adjustable. The rear suspension of this sports bike is a single shock, with 5 inches of travel with a seven-step adjustment for spring preload.

The updated look for 2016 is a new Matte Black Metallic with Candy Red color option and a new graphics layout.  The CBR650F is available in an ABS option or a non-ABS model.

The Honda Metropolitan, a fuel-efficient, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected four-stroke 50cc scooter, has been updated for the Honda motorcycle model lineup 2016 model year.  The all-new bodywork with rounded lines is available in three new color choices: Pearl White, Pearl Blue and Red and has a new Metropolitan emblem. Some people may think that this scooter may be an electric bike, because of it modern looks, but it still has a reliable and clean engine to boot.

A great ride for running errands around town or driving to class across campus, this scooter has a convenient hook for holding shopping bags or book bags, and an under seat, locking storage compartment that can hold a full-size helmet. The liquid cooled engine is quieter and environmentally friendly compared to an air-cooled, two-stroke engine.
