Zero Motorcycle 2013 Models Available in January

Zero Motorcycle has released information on their 2013 electric motorcycle lineup that includes 5 models that appeal to on-road, off-road or dual-purpose users.

New for 2013, Zero Motorcycle has redesigned the frame on every model to improve ergonomics, add storage space, allow for more aftermarket accessories and most importantly to accommodate the new Z-Force motor and Z-Force power pack.  The Z-Force motor is passively air-cooled, compact, highly efficient and more powerful than the original motor.  The Z-Force power pack has a higher voltage than the original power pack and riders have the option of charging their Zero Motorcycle to 95% in less than an hour when they use a CHAdeMO charge system that can be purchased as an optional accessory.

The 2013 Zero Motorcycle Zero S & Zero DS

Along with the new motor and power pack, the Zero S and Zero DS models are getting all new bodywork.  The Zero S will be available in Black or Yellow and the Zero DS will be available in Orange or Green both models at starting MSRP of $13,995.

The 2013 Zero Motorcycle FX

This on or off road electric Zero Motorcycle comes in at 275 lbs, this lightweight bike will be available in Black for 2013 and has a starting MSRP of $9495.  Known to insiders as the urban rebel motorcycle, the FX, along with the Zero XU and Zero MX have a modular quick-swap power pack.  This power pack gives the rider the choice of one or two battery modules and can upgrade the models from 2.8kWh to 5.7kWh quickly.

The 2013 Zero Motorcycle XU

With a low seat height and no shifting, the Zero XU is a great bike.  Available in red for 2013 and with an MSRP starting at $7995, this bike requires some serious consideration.

The 2013 Zero Motorcycle MX

A black, electric, Motocross bike, that will surely be competitive in the 2013 racing season, the Zero MX has a starting MSRP of $9495.

Another upgrade gives iPhone and Android smart phone users an opportunity to sync to their motorcycles via Bluetooth.  Detailed motorcycle information is then provided to the rider that will allow them to adjust the performance of their bikes.

Finally, routine maintenance required on standard motorcycles is now a thing of the past for a Zero Motorcycle that has about a penny per mile in fuel costs.
