For most people, the word scooter will conjure up an image of the small, silver, non-motorized scoters that are often popular during childhood. However, scooters have come a long way from that, and can often be powerful machines rather than just fun little toys. Although not quite as common as motorcycles and ATV’s, scooters are another solid option to consider when getting into power sports.

Before buying a scooter, there are a number of factors to consider. First, you should consider the type of riding you want to do, and what the overall purpose of the scooter will be. You’ll need to find a scooter that travels at the right speeds for your needs. Style and durability are also key factors. Whatever your interest in scooters is, it can be very useful to start by considering industry standards to determine exactly what you’re looking for. The Suzuki Burgman is one of these scooters, and has earned its reputation.

Suzuki Burgman 400 Review

One of the more popular scooters on the market is the Burgman 400 scooter from Suzuki, which is also one of the leading and most trusted brands in power sports in general. The Japan-based company has been producing motorcycles for over fifty years, and has been long established as an industry leader. So it should come as no surprise that they’re also a leader when it comes to scooters, especially with the Suzuki Burgman 400 scooter.

Suzuki introduced the Burgman 400 scooter in 2003, but it’s undergone a number of changes since then. The second generation of the scooter was released in 2007, featuring many of the original characteristics of the Burgman, but with an updated engine for increased performance, and an edger look.

Since the beginning however, the Burgman 400 engine has included a single-cylinder, four stroke, four valve, liquid cooled engine. The scooter produced after 2007 however came with fuel injection, dual clams, and an increased 15cc, making it the 400 (it was initially 385 cc). The scooter can reach speeds up to about 95 miles per hour, and comes with a reliable motor. The Suzuki Burgman 400 scooter is an excellent scooter for interstate touring, with a close competitor being the Majesty from Yamaha. In addition to the Burgman 400, Suzuki’s scooter also comes in multiple cc’s that are all similar in performance. The Burgman 600 review, for instance, is fairly similar to that of the 400.
